NB: The duty doctor is available each day until 6.30pm.
These times may be subject to variation due to out-of-hours commitments.
Extended Hours
We are able to offer pre-booked appointments from 6.30 - 7.50pm on alternate
Monday and Wednesday evenings and from 8.10 - 10.20am on two Saturdays per month
(please note that no other services are available during these times).
Out-Of-Hours
Emergencies Dial 111
Patients should call this number when they need medical help fast, but it's not a life-threatening
situation. Callers to 111 are put through to a team of highly trained call advisers,
who are supported by experienced nurses. They use a clinical system and ask questions
to assess callers' needs and determine the most appropriate course of action.
If your needs cannot reasonably be defined as urgent or
an emergency case, please wait until after 8.00am on the next working day
before phoning your own doctor at the surgery.
Walk-in Centre
The Beacon Health Centre is located within St Mary's Hospital (first right
at main entrance). It offers general medical services daily between 8.00am and
8.00pm. Telephone 821170.
Accident And Emergency
The nearest casualty department is at St Mary's Hospital, Newport - 524081. There is always a nurse on duty at the surgery who will be happy to deal with minor injuries during surgery hours.
NHS Direct
NHS Direct is a 24-hour, nurse-led
helpline, available to everyone in the UK.
Providing advice if you or a family member have a minor accident or illness, it
also has listings for local health services, such as dentists, doctors or out-of-hours
pharmacies. Whatever the time of day, you'll always have instant access
to a wide range of health information and advice - in fact, everything you need to get better, faster. Just call 0845 4647 anytime,
or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
Access for the Disabled
Surgery access has been redesigned
with the elderly and disabled in mind. Although the surgery is on two floors,
facilities are available for the elderly and disabled to be seen downstairs.
Parking
There is limited parking on the Esplanade, but there is a large public car park opposite.
